Items which are for sale only to society members or staff and student of the university may only be purchased by same. (see each item for details)
To purchase tickets restricted to members: students go to yourspace.nuigalaway.ie and log on via Edugate with your student ID and student password. Staff you can create an account for yourself using your NUI Galway e-mail address. Once you have entered the site you can join any society.
Items may only be refunded to the date specified on the item.
In the event where the society is purchasing from a third party the purchaser will be subject to this companies terms and conditions and refund policies once the purchase has been completed on their behalf.
Staff and Students you will be offered the opportunity to join a society at the time of purchase if the tickets are available to non-members you may opt out of this facility.
These NUI Galway Societies Terms & Conditions for Online Sales (the “Terms for Online Sales”) apply to the purchase of goods (“Products”) from the NUI Galway Societies Online Shop. They constitute binding terms governing the purchase by you of any Products.
Additional terms and conditions may apply to specific Products available via the www.socsbox.nuigalway.ie website (“The Site”). These will be brought to your attention as they arise.
By clicking the “I Agree” button prior to making any purchase, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms for Online Sales.
You are advised to read these Terms for Online Sales each time before clicking the “I Agree” button as they may be subject to change without any notification.
We may at any time suspend or restrict the operation of this Site without notice or without giving any reasons. We aim to make the Site available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, your access to the Site may occasionally be restricted to allow for the introduction of new Products or features, site development, maintenance, repairs or for any other reason. In the case of any down-time, we will attempt to restore the service as soon as we reasonably can.

Once flights are booked the purchaser is subject to the refunds policy of the carrier and no refunds will be given by the society.
The purchaser must read and abide by the rules specific to the trip and must indicate such at the time of purchase.
Purchasers of tickets for foreign trips must have a valid in date passport at time of purchase. A copy of such must be deposited at the SocsBox. If you are an international student it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary visas to visit the country in question.
It is the purchasers responsibility to be on time for all transport, no refund will be given in the event of missed connections.
If the date of the trip as advertised is changed for any reason you will be notified and may at this stage receive a full refund if the new date does not suit you. You must communicate your intention to the organising society by whatever date and time they specify.
Tickets may be refunded up to 7 days before the event or unless otherwise stated on the item.
Late admission is not guaranteed but will be offered whenever possible.
The management reserves the right to cancel any performance without prior notice and without being liable to pay any person any compensation or damage other than a refund of the face value of the tickets held by them of any cancelled performance.
Management reserves the right of admission if you are not admitted to a venue as you are in breach of the venues policy you will not be entitled to any refund. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions of venues external to the university. In general ID is required and you may also be refused admission due to intoxication.
You will be issued with a ticket via e-mail please print a copy of this ticket and bring it to the venue.
In some instances these tickets must be exchanged for official tickets which can be redeemed at the SocsBox, please see information on your specific purchase.
There is no facility to post tickets. You may make an arrangement to collect your ticket at the venue 20 minutes prior to the event, see specific tickets for details.
Ticketholders enter the venues at their own risk and assume all responsibility for their property.
This ticket may not, without the prior written consent of the NUI Galway Societies, be resold for commercial purposes or at a premium, nor may it be packaged or used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. If a ticket is sold in breach of this condition, the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.
All merchandise purchased must be collected at the SocsBox and must be accompanied by proof of purchase which will be e-mailed to you.
We have taken reasonable precautions to try to ensure that prices quoted on this Site are correct and that all Products have been fairly described. However, when ordering Products through this Site, please note:
(a) whilst we try to display the colours of our Products accurately on the Site, we cannot guarantee that the Site’s or your monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product you collect.
(b) if the is any problem with the product which the society has ordered on your behalf from the third party you will be offered a refund in full.
Data Protection and security
Your data will never be passed on to any third party and will only be used to inform you of information pertinent to your purchase.
The society you have purchased from will have your contact details to contact you in relation to you purchase. If you agree to join the society you will be on their mailing and text list, you may opt out at any time or change your contact details or how you may be contacted by logging on to your profile in yourspace.nuigalway.ie. note when you become a member of a society you automatically receive the weekly Societies What’s Happening Guide, you may opt out of this at any time at this link: http://www.socs.nuigalway.ie/whats_happening_guide
A secure service is provided for us by Realex when you submit your credit/debit card number on the site none of these details are held on our site.
Rules pertaining to specific events:
Be aware of the hazards involved
Must not jeopardize your own health & safety or that of others
Must follow instructions given by officers of trip leaders
Must attend training provided
Must wear any protective gear provided.
Must inform officers/trip leaders of any medical condition that may affect your ability to participate in activities or affect emergency first aid treatment.
You are responsible for making an informed decision as to whether it is a suitable activity for you.
You must never participate in activities while under the influence of alcohol.
Must stay in groups of no less than 3.
Ensure in the event of receiving medical treatment, that you are 100% satisfied that you have received all the medical treatment you require before being discharged.
When physical activity is over if consuming Alcohol you must drink responsibly, and in a manner which will not endanger your own safety and health or that of others.
Note if you are in breach of any of the rules you may be subject to university disciplinary action or banned from future Society trips. If you present a danger to yourself or another members on the trip you may also be asked to return to NUI Galway immediately, you will be liable for any costs incurred.
Code of conduct at NUI Galway Society Balls for student attendees and their guests:
Full ticket holders must be there by the reception at 7:30pm. (adjust this according to your ball plans)
Afters ticket holders must be there by 10pm. (adjust this according to your ball plans)
There will be strictly no admittance 20 minutes after above times.
Management reserve the right to refuse admission.
Anyone attempting to consume alcohol not purchased on the premise will be asked to leave.
Alcohol may not be brought into the premises you will be asked to open bags etc.
Strictly no admittance to persons under the influence of alcohol.
You must adhere to the University Code of conduct at all times, this is a University event and your conduct reflects on the University, code available at this address http://www.nuigalway.ie/codeofconduct/
Student ID is essential.
Each student may have one guest on their ID their name must be given at time of purchase.
You must not jeopardize your own health & safety or that of others.
If consuming Alcohol you must drink responsibly, and in a manner which will not endanger your own safety and health or that of others.
By purchasing a ticket you are agreeing that you and your guest, if any, will abide by these rules
